Blackberry French 75


One part gin (Bombay, Tanqueray or Askur preferred)

One part simple syrup


Three parts Champagne

Splash of Brandy


10-15 blackberries

One part sugar

One part water




  1. Prepare the simple syrup mixture without the blackberries.

  2. Muddle the blackberries.

  3. When syrup cools, add blackberries.

  4. In a Champagne flute, mix the chilled gin and simple syrup until well incorporated.

  5. Add a splash of brandy.

  6. Top with Champagne.

  7. Finish with a squeeze of lemon.

  8. Garnish with a lemon twist and blackberry.

note: If you prefer a smoother consistency, strain the excess fibers out of the simple syrup mixture


The French 75 is one of the most popular Champagne cocktails. This vibrant drink that contains, gin, champagne, lemon juice and sugar got it's name because experiencing it was like the experience of being shelled by a quick-firing French 75mm field gun. Use caution reloading!
