Mulled Wine(s)

White Mulled Wine

Ingredients:

15 oz peaches

1 tbsp cinnamon

1 pinch ground cloves

2 star anise

6 tbsp sugar if using a dryer white wine. If using sweet wine, use 4 tbsp

½ bottle white wine

½ cup brandy


Gadgets:

stainer single meshed


Directions:

  1. Heat the peaches with juices, cinnamon, cloves, anise and sugar in a pot to just below boiling for 5 minutes. Do not let boil.

  2. Remove from heat and add wine.

  3. Reduce heat to simmer stirring occasionally for 10 minutes.

  4. Remove from heat and press peach mixture with a wooden spoon through a strainer into a bowl.

  5. Once strained, discard the peaches.

  6. Return mixture to pot adding extra sugar if desired.

  7. Return pot to the heat.

  8. Add the brandy and stir for 5 minutes.

  9. Pour into heatproof glass or mug.

  10. Dress with cinnamon stick, orange and/or anise.

Red Mulled Wine

Ingredients:

½ bottle red wine blend

1 cinnamon stick

1 pinch ground cloves

2 star anise

6 tbsp sugar

1 clementine

½ cup brandy


Directions:

  1. Pour the wine, cinnamon stick, cloves, anise, sugar in a pot to just below boiling for 5 minutes. Do not let boil.

  2. Squeeze the clementine into the pot.

  3. Reduce heat to simmer stirring occasionally for 10 minutes.

  4. Add extra sugar if desired.

  5. Add the brandy and stir for 5 minutes.

  6. Pour into heatproof glass or mug.

  7. Dress with cinnamon stick, orange and/or anise.


Infused Mulled Wine

Ingredients:

10 tbsp sugar

1 clementine

½ bottle sweet white wine

¼ bottle red wine blend

1 cup brandy


Gadgets:

Directions:

  1. Heat the peaches with juices, ground cinnamon, cinnamon stick, cloves, anise, and sugar in a pot to just below boiling for 5 minutes. Do not let boil.

  2. Squeeze clementine into mixture.

  3. Remove from heat and add the white wine and red blend.

  4. Reduce heat to simmer stirring occasionally for 10 minutes.

  5. Remove from heat and press peach mixture with a wooden spoon through a strainer into a bowl.

  6. Once strained, discard the peaches.

  7. Return mixture to pot and add extra sugar if desired.

  8. Return pot to the heat.

  9. Add the brandy and stir for 5 minutes.

  10. Pour into heatproof glass or mug.

  11. Dress with cinnamon stick, orange and/or anise.
